Welcome to Dear Younger Me

“Every mountain, every valley, thru each heartache you will see. Every moment brings you closer to who you were meant to be. Dear younger me, dear younger me!”

Lyrics from the song “Dear Younger Me”, MercyMe (2014)

My blog “Dear Younger Me” reflects a lifetime of experiences as a son, a brother, a friend, a colleague, a husband, a Dad, and my newest calling as a grandfather. I also share the various roles I’ve taken on in the world of business, academia, and in my lifelong journey of faith as an active participant in my parish community and the many blessings God has given me.

I hope you have fun reading my stories and experiences and no matter where you may be in life or career to heed the timeless words of the great Ferris Bueller that Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around, you might miss it.”

About Me

I have been married for 44 years to my soul mate and BFF Jean who coined my nickname “Jackie Paper” when we first met as graduate Ph.D. students at Fordham University because I loved reading newspapers, especially the Wall Street Journal and New York Times.

Our journey together has been blessed by the Lord with three great kids in Tarah, Katie, and Patrick; two wonderful sons in law in Logan and Brian; and our three grandchildren — Aurora age 5, Redding age 3, and Irene 19 months.

I love dogs and especially our Golden Retrievers Cali and Riley who brighten my day by their very presence along with Pat’s dog named Pepper also a Golden.
